2. Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted on our own servers in data centers in Germany. When you visit a page, the server records technical data (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser and operating system, referring page). We use this data only to operate and secure the website and delete it after 30 days at the latest. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
3. Cookies
We only use cookies that are technically necessary, for example to keep you signed in to your account or to remember the progress of a form. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Fonts and icons are served from our own server; no data is sent to font providers.
3a. Web analytics (Matomo)
To understand how our website is used, we use Matomo, an open-source analytics software that runs on our own servers in Germany. Matomo is configured without cookies; IP addresses are anonymized before storage, and no data is shared with third parties. We see aggregated statistics such as visited pages, referring websites, device type and country. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in improving the website). You can object at any time by enabling the “Do Not Track” setting in your browser.
4. Accounts and listings
If you create an account or a listing, we process the data you enter (name, email address, company details, address, website, description, photos). Company details in a listing are published on this website by design. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (contract). We keep the data as long as your account or listing exists and delete it afterwards unless retention is required by law (e.g. tax law for invoices: up to 10 years).
5. Automatic link checks
For free listings we automatically visit the home page of the listed website about once a day to check whether it links back to us. We only store the result of the check (link found or not, date). Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
6. Payments
Paid plans are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland. Stripe receives the data required for the payment (name, email, payment details, billing address). We never see your full card details. Stripe may process data in the USA; transfers are based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. More information: stripe.com/privacy. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.
7. Emails
We send emails that are necessary for your listing: confirmations, invoices, renewal notices, link-check notices and, about one month after a purchase, one request to share your experience (with one reminder). You can ignore the request; we do not send newsletters.
8. Testimonials
If you submit a statement through our testimonial form and give your consent, we publish your statement together with your name, role and company. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time by email; we then remove the statement.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg.
